MADCAP PUPPET THEATRE

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Madcap Puppet Theatre is nationally recognized for its original children’s theatre productions, and for in-school educational programs that include performances, workshops and residencies. Specialized programs also include such issues as conflict resolution, health, safety, environment and social concerns.
 
In partnership with schools and libraries across the country Madcap brings art to children that enhances their education with life-enriching performances drawn from world literature and cultures. In collaborations with orchestras, museums, opera and ballet, Madcap brings a richly textured artistic experience to children and their families throughout the country.  In Cincinnati Madcap premiers each season’s original productions through the Hats Off Series at the Cincinnati Art Museum, a partnership now in its 14th year.

Through the years Madcap diversified it’s offering to include special performances with giant puppets and Symphony Orchestras, Pops Orchestras and Chamber ensembles. A few highlights follow: Cincinnati Pops 1999, 2008; Oregon Symphony 2005; Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra 2005, 2007, 2008; Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009; Idaho Falls Symphony Society 2006; Akron Symphony Orchestra 2008; Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra 2008; Lima Ohio Symphony Orchestra 2008.
