Kristin Pfabe, Violin
Kristin Pfabe has played the violin with Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra for 12 years. She began playing the violin when she was 6 years old. Her teachers have included Beatrice Lily, Marilyn O’Boyle, Robert Walters, Arnold Schatz, Alan Rawson and Beth Felice. During high school, she attended Interlochen Arts Camp. In addition to LSO, she has played with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony and the Northern Kentucky Symphony. Her bachelor’s degree is from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where she studied mathematics and Spanish. She taught Spanish at Pius X High School in Lincoln for one year, and then pursued graduate studies in mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she completed her doctoral degree in 1995. She taught mathematics at Northern Kentucky University for four years, and is currently an associate professor of mathematics and computer science at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
