Richard fountain, keyboard
Richard Fountain, originally from Springfield, Neb., is a Doctor of Musical Arts students in piano performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying with internationally known pianist Paul Barnes. Mr. Fountain received his Master of Music degree in piano performance from UNL and his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Taylor University in Upland, Ind. He has been a soloist with the Taylor University Chamber Orchestra, Marion (Ind.) Philharmonic Orchestra and the UNL Symphony Orchestra. Since the fall of 2006, he has held the position of principal keyboard in Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra.
In March 2006, Mr. Fountain returned to the stage with the UNL Symphony Orchestra, playing Liszt's Totentanz. He also was featured in a December 2005 recital sponsored by the Oneonta (N.Y.) Concert Association. He is a widely sought-after accompanist who has played with vocalists, instrumentalists and ensembles of all varieties and abilities. In the summer of 2005, he was privileged to spend a month at the Bosendorfer International Piano Academy in Vienna, studying with Krassimira Jordan and Pamela Mia Paul, as well as Paul Barnes. Mr. Fountain teaches class piano and private lessons in addition to his frequent accompanying. He lives in Lincoln with his wife, Sarah.
