Growing up in Upstate New York, Annie always knew she wanted to play and perform music. So all throughout school, she surrounded herself with the arts and music. Annie holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Ithaca College where she was a student of Susan Waterbury. As a student there, she was an active participant of the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra, and the String Chamber Ensemble Seminar. Annie also holds a Master of Arts in Violin Performance from New York University (NYU) where she was a student of Anton Miller. While attending NYU, she was actively performing with the NYU Symphony Orchestra and the String Chamber Ensemble Program, as well as performing with the New Jersey Philharmonic and Binghamton Philharmonic as a violin substitute. After graduating from NYU, Annie returned to her hometown to continue subbing with the Binghamton Philharmonic and to also perform as a core orchestra member with the Tri Cities Opera. Alongside performing, she was also teaching part-time at a local music store. In 2008, Annie moved to Albany New York, and while there she was a violin and piano faculty with the Cady School of Music. In July 2009, Annie moved to Omaha with her husband, who is currently a post-doctoral candidate at the Boys Town Research Hospital. She opened up the Annie Valente Violin Studio and is ecstatic about teaching in the Omaha area. This is her first season with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, and she’s excited to be a part of this ensemble.
