Lisa Watkins has been a member of Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra and the Omaha Symphony for more than 20 years and freelances with local groups including the Nebraska Chamber Symphony Orchestra and the Mannheim Steamroller Orchestra. She is also an active chamber musician as a member of the Lincoln String Quartet and Classic Quartet. Lisa has performed with Third Chair Chamber Players as well as J.S. Bach and Friends touring cities and towns in the Midwest, specializing in the music of Bach. In the summer she is a member of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra at the Chautauqua on Lake Erie in Lakeside, Ohio. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music where she was a student of Shirley Givens, internationally recognized artist-teacher. Lisa holds a Masters of Music degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a student of Arnold Schatz.

Lisa’s love of chamber music and orchestral literature has taken her to festivals all over the world including the Aspen Music Festival, the American Conservatory at Fontainbleau, Grand Teton Orchestral Seminar and Chautauqua in New York. She is a registered Suzuki teacher and has been a private violin instructor in Lincoln and Omaha for more than 20 years. Lisa is active in developing and nurturing students’ music experience through solo performance, chamber music and orchestra performances. She has held teaching positions at Brownell Talbot in Omaha, Neb.; Union College in Lincoln, Neb., and Concordia University in Seward, Neb.
