Christine Widman has played the viola for 16 years. Formerly a member of Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra, Christine rejoins the orchestra in 2008 after returning to the Lincoln area. While studying at DePaul University in Chicago as a student of violist Rami Solomonow, she graduated with distinction, earning a Master of Music degree. In Chicago, Christine played with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, Illinois Philharmonic, Rockford Symphony, and South Bend Symphony Orchestra. In 2007, Christine was a part of the recording orchestra with the Silk Road Ensemble, which premiered a recording of the work Ambush from Ten Sides. As a chamber musician, she was featured on the Chicago Civic Orchestra Chamber Music Series. Christine also was a violin and viola instructor at the Music Connection School of Music, in addition to coaching sectionals for the Chicago Youth Symphony. In 2008, Christine was appointed to the Kansas City Symphony substitute viola list.
