Following the 2006 Uncle Sam Jam, LSO's Maestro Edward Polochick wrote the following:

"It has long been my dream to perform an outdoor concert t
hat includes and welcomes all citizens of Lincoln. Last Tuesday’s July 4 celebration, a collaboration with the City of Lincoln, the Lincoln Jaycees, Broadcast House, Pepsi-Cola of Lincoln and Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, was my dream come true. After a beautiful day full of games, picnics and family fun in the park, Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra took the stage and played a patriotic concert, ending with the fireworks show choreographed to the music. The Uncle Sam Jam was a spectacular event, and made me feel so proud to be an honorary citizen of Lincoln."
