Jeffrey Nelson

Nelson, JeffJeffrey Nelson is originally from Lockport, IL, and currently serves as principal percussionist with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra. He has held this position since 1995. He held the position of principal percussionist, timpanist and Xylophone Soloist with the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band from 1994 to 2001. Jeff graduated from De Paul University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and continued his studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance. His teachers have included Doug Howard and Kalman Cherry of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Tom Stubbs of the St. Louis Symphony and Albert Payson of the Chicago Symphony. Jeff lives in Papillion with his wife Kelli and their two children, Christopher and Annika.
