Lisa Nielsen has been a member of Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra for 25 years and has performed as first violinist with the Omaha Symphony and Sioux City Symphony. Ms. Nielsen is an active freelance violinist and performs regularly with the Nebraska Chamber Symphony Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller Orchestra and has performed with Third Chair Chamber Players as well as J.S. Bach and Friends touring cities and towns in the Midwest, specializing in the music of Bach. In the summer Ms. Nielsen is a member of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra, at the Chautauqua on Lake Erie in Lakeside, Ohio. Ms. Nielsen leads Classic Quartet and is a member of Lincoln String Quartet. Ms. Nielsen founded and directs Lincoln String Camp and the Lincoln Summer Youth Ensemble. Ms. Nielsen holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music where she was a student of Shirley Givens and a Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She has private students in Lincoln and Omaha.
