M. Eugene Williams

 

M. Eugene Williams is in his 23rd season as Second Clarinet with the Lincoln Symphony. Dr. Williams was Second Clarinet with the Omaha Symphony for 6 years, Third/Bass Clarinetist for 2 years and continues with the Omaha Symphony as an extra. This summer Gene will begin his 24th season as Principal Clarinet with the Lakeside Symphony in Lakeside, Ohio. He has also performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra, Missouri Symphony Society, Boise Philharmonic, Grand Teton and Snowbird Music Festivals. He earned his D.M.A. from the University of Michigan in Clarinet Performance and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Houston and Bradley University. His principal teachers included Fred Ormand, Jeffrey Lerner, Clark Brody, Martin Zwick, and Dean Howard. He has maintained a private studio in clarinet and saxophone for 43 years and is former faculty at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Currently, he teaches for the Omaha Public Schools and at home.
