Korynne Bolt

Korynne BoltA full-time member of Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, Korynne also holds the position of Associate Principal Cello in the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. Korynne founded and owns Star City Strings LLC, a performing ensemble and full-time cello studio. Star City Strings provides a wide range of multi-genre repertoire for weddings and other events in the Lincoln-Omaha area. In addition to teaching private lessons, Korynne organizes group classes and recitals for her students in diverse venues such as the Turbine Flats, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Grand Lodge at the Preserve. Korynne’s students have performed in the All-State Orchestra, the Lincoln Youth Symphony, and continued on to major in music in college. Korynne has also coached chamber groups for the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras, taught at SAIL Camp, and performed with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Rangbrook Ensemble, and Omaha Symphony Orchestra.

In 2013, Korynne graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Music in String Performance, summa cum laude. While in Boston, Korynne performed as principal cello of the Boston University Chamber Orchestra and in the Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Cellos. For the following year, Korynne studied independently with Peter Howard in St. Paul, Minnesota while freelancing, teaching private lessons, and working at Claire Givens Violins in Minneapolis. Korynne’s other previous teachers include Marc Johnson, Karen Buranskas, Carol Ou, Emilie Grondin, and Soo Bae.

In 2016, Korynne completed a Master’s degree in Cello Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she studied with Greg Beaver. One highlight of her career was performing the Schubert Cello Quintet with the Chiara Quartet in 2016 as winner of the “Play with the Chiaras” competition.

When Korynne is not performing or teaching, she enjoys cycling, yoga, and traveling with her husband, Seth.
