Erin Cosby

Erin Cosby graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music Performance degree.  While a student, she was concertmaster of the UNL Orchestra and performed in masterclasses for Oleh Krysa, Eleanora Turovsky, Andras Agoston, James Buswell and David Kim. Erin also competed in the Music Teachers National Association collegiate division as a soloist and with the St. Cecilia Trio.  The St. Cecilia Trio won the state and regional Level and was a national finalist in 1999.

Erin, a member of the Suzuki Association of America, has studied the violin for 34 years and is trained in the method by master teacers Enid Cleary, Nancy Lokken, Carrie Reuing and Alice Joy Lewis.  For the past sixteen years she has taught Suzuki violin in her Omaha studio, currently working with thirty-five students ranging in age from 3 to 17. Erin has taught group classes for the Omaha Conservatory of Music and was the Assistant Director of the Frontier Strings Ensemble, accompanying the ensemble on the European tour in 2006. She spends her summers teaching a fiddle camp she founded in 2000. She has taught at the Creighton Orchestral Institute, Great Plains Orchestral Institute, and most recently, at the Omaha Conservatory of Music Institution.

An active player in the metro area, Erin performs with the Lincoln and Omaha Symphony and plays numerous wedding and special events. She has performed with Mannheim Steamroller, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Gladys Knight, Rod Stewart and David Foster.
