Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra invites young musicians to enter LSO’s 2019–20 Young Artist Competition. The winner will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the orchestra at LSO’s holiday concerts at the Lied Center. The winner also receives the title of LSO Young Artist Winner, a private rehearsal and coaching with LSO Guest Conductor Lucas Waldin, a $500 cash prize, and media exposure.

To be eligible, musicians must be 20 years old or younger on the day of the audition, must be an instrumental musician, and participate in the audition, performing one movement of a concerto of their choice (ten-minute time limit). A piano accompanist will be provided for all auditioning musicians; no auditioning musicians may rehearse with the piano accompanist ahead of the audition. Auditions will begin on October 12 at 10:00am. After all first-round auditions are complete, judges will announce callbacks or a winner.
